We could also make a python script (and use the “system” module), or anything else really. Whatever we type in this box is what is run in the shell behind the scenes for us when we typeset the raw. Since I am using the pdftex->LaTeX typeset we see that the command which is run by TeXShop whenever I typeset the document is found in the left side under “pdfTeX” and then in the second box with title “Latex”: So, you just started a new project and you are typing it up in LaTeX. But, if there are files in your Misc folder before you typeset you want to use those (as they contain the referencing system etc.)! Finally, you want the generated “.pdf” file (again: if this is indeed what you typeset) moved back into the “Project” folder. ![]() Also, you want all the aux, log, and other “trash” files to go into the Misc folder automatically after typesetting. In other words, TeXShop will look for the figure file inside your Latex folder where main.tex itself resides but it wont find them unless we somehow circumvent that. You have some figures in the “Figures” folder but you are not referring to them inside your LaTeX main script (in an “includegraphics” command) via the path: “./Figures/Fig1.eps”, assuming the figure name is Fig1.eps, but rather just with “Fig1.eps”. It also generates a “.pdf” file (if that is what results in your particular typeset). (particular files being created depends on how you typeset). When you typeset main.tex this will generate a bunch of files such as the “.aux”, “.log”, etc. tex file you are working in to produce some nice output file (e.g., a. ![]() But hopefully we are worldly enough to know something about mixing up a batch of concrete and can generally infer causality, or at least directionality. It is equally correct, based on the value of r, to say that concrete strength has some influence on the amount of fly ash in the mix. Of course, correlation does not imply causality. In other words, it seems that fly ash does have some influence on concrete strength. We conclude based on this that there is weak linear relationship between concrete strength and fly ash but not so weak that we should conclude the variables are uncorrelated. This is the probability that the true value of r is zero (no correlation). Pearson’s r (0,4063-same as we got in Excel, R, etc.)Ī p-value. In this form, however, we get two numbers: But, if we were so inclined, we could write the results to a data frame and apply whatever formatting in Python we wanted to. Here I use the list() type conversion method to convert the results to a simple list (which prints nicer): A Pandas DataFrame object exposes a list of columns through the columns property. In this way, you do not have to start over when an updated version of the data is handed to you. Although we could change the name of the columns in the underlying spreadsheet before importing, it is generally more practical/less work/less risk to leave the organization’s spreadsheets and files as they are and write some code to fix things prior to analysis. It's also built like a tank (typical Mackie) and the angled interface is much more useful than you might realsie until you've used one. The angled bracket is removable if it doesn't suit you.ĭue to its Onyx preamps, converters, circuitry, it actually IS better than the competition at that price range. My original choice was the Mackie when I happen to come across the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2. They both have good solid reviews and look like they can do the job.įrom what I've read the Preamps seem to be pretty even but I don't do too much recording and if I did I would do it on my G5 with the MOTU 24io. For me the converters will be more important since I'll need them to do semi decent mix downs while on the road. They have a lot of the similar if not exact the same features so the main difference I see are: From what I've read they both have pretty good AD/DA for their price point so it's tough to choose based on that research so far (without actually hearing them both). * The Mackie is at a nice ergonomic angle but the Scarlett has a nice big volume knob. My current rig is hooked up to a Mackie 1642-VLZ Pro mixer and I never liked the monitor knob. It seemed to go from no sound to a bit too loud as soon as I touched it (if that makes any sense). * They both have dedicated 0 latency direct monitoring but from reading the user manuals only the Mackie has a dedicated volume knob for the input monitoring and the ability to monitor in mono or stereo. The Scarlett only has the the switch to turn direct monitoring on. * Mackie is USB 1.1 but does not need a driver to work on a mac. The Scarlett is USB 2.0 but you need to install a driver for it to work. I'm thinking for the quick audio and a few VSTi's dance/club type stuff that I'm doing I wouldn't notice a difference in the USB speed so I'm not sure if this even matters. Unless the USB 2.0 contributes that much more stability to make me go for the Scarlett, I think I will go for the Mackie for the ergonomic angle and the direct monitoring input volume control. I know I'm being way to picky for such a lower cost interface but I'm geeky that way. Thanks again for the feedback guys, much appreciated. The Artist has the bare necessities for recording instruments and voice. There’s a single mic/instrument combo input designed around an Onyx preamp with +48v phantom power and Hi-Z switch for recording hi-impedance signals. ![]() |
